"Nershi led SCI was much better than Kang led."

Couldn't agree with this statement more. Kang pushed the band in a terrible direction imo - injecting trace and techo influences into their sound which I find repetitive and of little musical value other than to 'just dance.' (Just listen to Kang's side project EOTO - unlistenable - again this is imo.). By the end of their "retirement" in 2007 i was getting pretty disillusioned with them.

I think since they've come back it seems like they've backed off of this sound a bit and moved towards more of a compromise. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised in December when I see them in Chicago.

EOTO is the side project for Cheese drummer and percussionist Michael Travis and Jason Hann. Free form electronica-percussion trance dance jam stuff.

Particularly icky for old guys like me. Barely acceptable after a dozen Sierra Nevadas.

Pangea with Chris Berry is Kang's side effort. Much better than EOTO IMO.

I stand corrected. I guess I don't know as much about these guys as GD, lol.
